Glenna Sue Dummit
Glenna Sue Dummit, 73, of the McDowell Community, passed away Saturday, Jan, 16, 2016, in Cox Medical South, Springfield.
She was born Sept. 7, 1942, at Cato, the daughter of Marlett and Dora (Black) Sturgell. On Jan. 13, 1962, she was united in marriage to Eddie Dummit, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one daughter, Queeta Crawford and her husband, Berlie, of McDowell; four brothers, Dorman Sturgell, Huston Sturgell and his wife, Rita, and Austin Sturgell and his wife, Meta, all of Aurora, and Norman Sturgell and his wife, Jean, of Cassville; two sisters, Marguriett Evans, of Cassville, and Frances Elmore, of Kansas City; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Debra Dummit; one brother, Bill Perriman; and one sister, Jo Smith.
She grew up in Barry County where she received her education and graduated from Cassville High School. She was a homemaker and resided several years in Kansas. In 1992, she and her husband moved to the McDowell Community to make their home. She was a member of Arnhart Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Jerry Nickle and Pastor Doyle Russell conducted the services. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield.
