Seneca searching for new coach
There will be at least one Big 8 football job to fill this offseason.
Seneca Coach Dan Scheible resigned, effective immediately, to become the offensive coordinator at Central Methodist University in Fayette.
"It's always hard to leave one place for another," Scheible said. "The Seneca community has been so good to me. I have enjoyed my time here."
Scheible, who has spent 23 of his 31 years coaching in the college ranks, said the move puts him closer to his mother and grandchildren.
"This move is the best thing for my family," Scheible said. "I believe I've left [Seneca] in a better spot than when I got here."
Scheible led the Indians to the 2013 state championship game and said he will never forget that special group of seniors.
He will serve as the Central Methodist University offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
In five years at Seneca, Scheible was 26-30 including a 2-8 performance in 2015.
