Rodney Ray Walker
Rodney Ray Walker, 78, of Cassville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, in his home.
He was born Feb. 5, 1937, in Cassville, the son of Wilbur Lowell and Hattie Angeline (Dairty) Walker. In 1957, he was united in marriage to Norma Ruth Ackley and to this union four children were born. On May 26, 2004, in Eureka Springs, Ark., he was united in marriage to Donna Marie (Reed) Olmsted, who preceded him in death on April 14, 2010. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two sons John Ray Walker and James Wilbur Walker; a son-in-law, Don Wilson; and a great-grandson.
Survivors include: one son Allen Walker and his wife, Janie, of Cassville; one daughter, Norma Sue Wilson, of Healy, Kan.; two daughters-in-law Bonnie Walker, of Cassville, and Robin Brouse, of Lee's Summit; step-children, Lori Holsten and her husband, Tim, of Wilburton, Okla., Lynn Ingle and her husband, Dave, of Monett, and Danny Lawrence, of Alexandria, Va.; one brother Donald Patrick Dairty. of Springfield, Colo.; four sisters Betty Hancock, of Walsh, Colo., Willa Dean Wilson and Ellen Garner both of Mission, Kan., and Priscilla Humphrey, of Vilas, Colo.; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
He grew up and received his education in Cassville. He was a self-employed carpenter.
Funeral services were held Saturday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Wyatt Clevenger conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Cassville.
