Residents put fitness at top of list for new year

Denith Deason of Seligman made sure to start the first week of the new year out right by getting in a workout first thing at the Cassville YMCA Monday morning. Deason said he decided last month to start putting fitness and health at the top of his list, and as part of that commitment, he exercises five to six days per week. The YMCA has a Pay the Day promotion this month wherein new members can save a bundle on the $50 joiners fee. For instance, if members join Thursday, they will only pay $7 of the joiners fee. The earlier in the month they decide to join, the more they will save on a membership to pursue their new year's goals of health and fitness. Julia Kilmer reporter@cassville-democrat.com
