City of Wheaton names parade float winners

Awards given in 5 categories at annual Christmas Parade

The city of Wheaton has announced the winners in the float contest during its annual Christmas parade.

For religious floats, Wheaton United Methodist Church took first place, New Hope Baptist Church took second and Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church claimed third.

For non-religious floats, first place went to the Wheaton Wranglers 4-H Club, and second place went to the Southwest FFA.

For Marching Bands, Southwest took first, Purdy took second and Exeter claimed third.

In the cars and truck division, David Shockley took first in his 1964 Ford F100, Benny's Auto Repair won second with a 1965 International Scout and Joyce Kelly claimed third with a 1960 Chevy.

Finally, in the horses, wagons and buggies category, Little Miss Barry County won first, Edgar Schreiner III horse and wagon took second and BHAR Ranch's three horses claimed third.
