Car goes through fence on Hwy. 112

A car went off the side of the road and threw a barbed-wire fence Sunday afternoon off Highway 112 in Cassville. Rain had been nonstop all day, and according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the driver was traveling too fast for conditions and slid off the road. Cassville man suffers moderate injuries

Colton D. Bowman, 18, of Cassville, suffered moderate injuries when his westbound 2012 Chevrolet Cruze slid off the road at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and went through a barbed-wire fence, causing extensive damage.

The accident occurred about 1.5 miles south of Cassville, on Highway 112.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Corporal Elan Adams, Bowman was driving too fast for conditions, causing his vehicle to run off the side of the road and strike a fence. An 85 percent chance of rain had been forecasted, and it continued to rain throughout the day.

Adams said Bowman was coming back from work when the accident occurred. He was transported to Mercy Hospital in Cassville for moderate injuries. Bowman was wearing a safety device.
