Richard H. Urbach
Richard H. Urbach, 92, of Golden, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at the Mt. Vernon Veterans Home, Mt. Vernon.
A Celebration of Life Service was held at Ozark Mountain Community Church in Blue Eye Saturday.
Richard H. Urbach was born Aug. 15, 1923, at Harvard, Neb., to Conrad John and Elizabeth Magdelene (Yost) Urbach. He attended grade school in rural schools and Clay Center Public School. He received his high school education at Grand Island Senior High School.
He served his country as a U. S. Air Force Gunnery Instructor, and was based in Italy.
He married Lois Rembolt on June 16, 1946, at Grand Island, Neb.
Feeling the call to Christian ministry, he attended York College where he graduated in 1951. He completed his seminary work at the Evangelical Theological Seminary at Naperville, Ill., in 1954. He served parishes for 32 years and retired in 1984.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. For the past nine years, he had been residing with his daughter, LoAnn Horst, and her family in Golden.
Survivors include: two sons and two daughters-in-law, Roger and Deb Urbach, of San Marcos, Calif., and Ronald and Cindy Urbach, of Hemet, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, LoAnn and Michael Horst of Golden; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters, and son, Raymond Urbach.
