Berniece N. Standlee
Berniece N. Standlee, age 88, of Golden, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015, in Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, Missouri.
She was born November 16, 1927, in Stone County, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Vera (Rausch) Allen. On April 21, 1950, in Green Forest, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to James Frank Standlee, Jr., who preceded her in death on August 31, 2002. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Hollis Allen.
Surviving are one son, Darrell Standlee and his wife LeAnn of Joplin, Missouri; one daughter, Debbie Ball and her husband Mike of Golden, Missouri; one brother, Wallace Allen of Cassville, Missouri; two sisters, Juanita Standlee of Golden, Missouri and Eula Mae Pettigrew of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Joshua Ball, Zach Ball, Jordan Ball and Lauren Peterson and eight great grandchildren.
Berniece received her education at Blue Eye, where she graduated from high school and went on to receive two years of college credits. Berniece was a schoolteacher, teaching several years locally. Most of her life was spent in the Golden area where she and her husband were cattle farmers. Berniece enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her family. She was a member of Golden Church of God. Berniece was greatly loved and respected by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 9, 2015, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Deryl Harp and Pastor James Weaver will conduct the services. Burial will be in McGuire Cemetery, south of Viola, Missouri.
