Herman (Sherm) Lee Stringer
Herman (Sherm) Lee Stringer, 94, of Cassville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at the Cassville Mercy Hospital. He was born Oct. 21, 1921, in Eagle Rock. He was married to Mary Dorthlan Earls Feb. 15, 1946, by the Rev. Loren Easley in Mano.
Survivors include; his wife, two sons, Stephen Lee (Mary) and Michael James Stringer; one daughter, Elizabeth Jane Stringer McNey (Jim); his daughter-in-law, Glenda; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Luke and Joe Jr.; and one sister Elsie Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Stringer Sr., Anna Burris Stringer; four brothers, Aaron, George, John, and Verlin Stringer; one sister, Dorothy Fairchild; and his son, David Earle Stringer.
He was a World War II veteran and served in the 737th Tank Battalion under George Patton. He was awarded five bronze stars.
He lived in Kansas City Missouri where he worked for City Products for 27 years. He was transferred to Lake City, Florida where he eventually purchased the business and worked there until he retired in 1986 and moved to Cassville where he lived for 30 years.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, with Pastor James Weaver officiating; burial was at Corinth Cemetery, Cassville.
