Rev. Bob C. Neeley
Rev. Bob C. Neeley, 89, of Cassville, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, in his home.
He was born Oct. 17, 1926, in the Pasley community, the son of Horace and Jewette (Reams) Neeley. On Dec. 28, 1945, in Eureka Springs, Ark., he was united in marriage to Betty Banks, who survives. Additional survivors include: three daughters, Stephanie Neeley-McGee and her husband, Dave, of Springfield, Ronda Neeley, of Springfield, and Vicki Neeley, of Cassville; six grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters, Barbara Swearingen and Betty Ann Crain.
He grew up and received his education in Cassville, he was the Valedictorian of the Class of 1944. During World War II he served in the United States Army Air Corp as a Navigator. For several years, he was a mail carrier and clerk for the U.S. Post Office in Cassville from which he retired. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. In 1969, he surrendered to preach, starting as associate pastor of Corinth Baptist Church and became director of mission for Barry County. Other churches he served were at Grandview, Emmanuel and Miller, making a full circle back to Corinth. In the 1950s he coached a championship Little League team.
Services were held at Nov. 25, in Corinth Baptist Church, Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Donnie Spears conducted the services. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
