Cassville man caught in Butterfield after tips come in

One of Barry County's most wanted, who had managed to evade the law, was recently apprehended and arrested after a foot chase, according to Barry County Sheriff Mick Epperly.

On Oct. 23, Shawn M. Jones, 33, of Cassville, was arrested after tips were received by law enforcement that he was at a house in Butterfield.

In August, warrants had been issued for his arrest due to probation violations.

Jones has been charged with passing bad checks, failure to pay fines, tampering with a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use, stealing and resisting arrest.

"We had a tip that he was at a house in Butterfield," said Epperly. "We searched for a couple of hours, then got another lead. We were able to run him down in the field in the bushes there behind a house. He ran from us twice."

Jones is being held at the Barry County jail awaiting a hearing date.
