Woman injured in motorcycle crash
Bike wrecks avoiding oncoming vehicle
A single-vehicle motorcycle crash eight miles south of Aurora at 10:25 a.m. on Monday in Barry County left a Republic woman injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, James Rowland, 62, of Republic, was riding south on Highway 39, north of Shell Knob, when his 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane. The motorcycle ran off the right side of the road and overturned.
Rowland's wife, Donna Rowland, 61, a passenger on the motorcycle, received moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment. James Rowland was not injured. The motorcycle received minor damage.
