Vehicle strikes fence on Hwy. 39 Thursday

A Shell Knob man was injured in a wreck Thursday at 11:04 a.m. on Highway 39, four miles south of Shell Knob.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report,Shawn Hornung, 50, of Mission, Kan., was driving a 1998 BMW northbound when his vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a fence.

A passenger in the vehicle, Richard Hornung, 82, of Shell Knob, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Berryville, Ark. Shawn Hornung was not injured.

Both were wearing safety devices, and the vehicle suffered moderate damage.
