Leona Helen (Potts) Fletcher
Leona Helen (Potts) Fletcher, 90, of Springfield, was born Feb. 17, 1925, in Barry County, the daughter of William Barlow and Nancy (Beal) Potts, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015.
She was a graduate of Seligman, Missouri High School. On Oct. 8, 1945, in Benton County, Ark., she was united in marriage to Donald L. Fletcher, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Janet Marie (Fletcher) Gouty; three brothers, Jack, Vernon and Billy Jim Potts and one sister, Pearl Cline.
Survivors include: her daughter, Pat Houk and her partner Richard Smarker, of Springfield; two sons, Gale Fletcher and his wife, Janet, of Neosho, and Landon Fletcher and his wife, Brenda Lou, of Cassville; a son-in-law, Jerry Gouty, of Bois D'Arc; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Neoma P. Tiner of Tulsa, Okla.
She moved to Springfield, in 1973. In 1984, she retired from General Electric in Springfield after working on the assembly line. She was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ in Springfield. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Shon Bishop conducted the services. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
