Four children and one adult suffered injuries Thursday in a wreck at 6:10 p.m. on Route C, six miles east of Purdy.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Edward Cooper, 69, of Granby, was driving a 2005 Ford F350 eastbound when a 2000 Dodge Dakota, being driven by Shawn Hughey, 37, of Verona, made a left turn and pulled into his path.

Hughey and two passengers, Thomas Hughey, 14, and Cristopher Hughey, 14, all of Verona, each suffered minor injuries and were transported by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Two other passengers, Justine Hughey, 12, and Matthew Hughey, 12, both of Verona, suffered moderate injuries and were transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Cooper was not injured, and he was wearing a safety device. Cristopher Hughey and Justine Hughey were wearing safety devices, and the other three in the Dakota were not.
