Eagle Rock Howl-O-Ween Fest scheduled

The Eagle Rock Friends of the Library and Eagle Rock Community Association has announced the Eagle Rock Daze and Howl-O-Ween Fest will be on Oct. 24. There will be a car show in the morning starting at 10 a.m. and children's activities around 2 p.m., starting with a costume contest for all ages. After that, the barn will be open for the games and haunted house until 5 p.m. There will be vendors set up for crafts and food. Those wishing to reserve a space may contact Susan Crownover at 417-241-3386. There will also be a medallion hunt starting the week before, with daily clues given to help participants locate it. Cole-Still reunion set for Sept. 13

The Cole-Still Family Reunion will be held on Sept. 13 at noon at Duncan Park in Thomas hollow. Tableware, plates, cups and drinks will be provided. Attendees should bring a covered dish and lawn chairs.

Watson family reunion to be held Saturday

The Watson Family Reunion will be held Saturday at the Barry County Museum. All family and friends are invited to bring a covered dish. Dinner will be served at noon.

Circus coming to Wheaton

Body of Christ Outreach Ministries in Wheaton has signed a contract with the Kelly Miller Circus, which will come to town on Oct. 18. Everyone is invited to watch the animals be unloaded and fed and witness the raising of the big top tent, which will be followed by a tiger meet and greet. Activities will begin at 7:30 a.m., and the tent will be raised at 9 a.m. Guides will be available for school groups and anyone attending. The traditional, old style circus will give performances at 2 p.m. and at 5 p.m. Some proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Food Ministries and Back to School programs.

Bark in the Park Dog Contest scheduled at Shakin' in the Shell

The Bark in the Park Dog Contest will be held at the 10th Annual Shakin' in the Shell Festival's at Shell Knob's Chamber Park on Needles Eye Road Sept. 19. Registration is from 1:30-2 p.m. and the contest runs from 2-3:30 p.m. Three contest categories are Ugliest, Smallest (12-plus months), and Biggest dogs. Other canine categories judged will be for Best Trick, Best Costume, Looks Most Like Owner and King and Queen. Lots of prizes and drawings are included, as well as dog training demonstrations. Free Barktinis are provided for each entrant at the Barktini Bar. For more information, people may call 417-858-3647 or 417-459-3107. Adult Ag class set for Sept. 21

The Cassville High School Agriculture Department will host an Adult Agriculture Education class on Sept. 21 at 6:30 p.m at Cassville High School. "Fresh Veggies Year Round" will be presented by Shon Bishop with the Lincoln University Extension Office. Dinner will be provided. Seligman Chamber hosting Sock Hop

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce will host a Sock Hop (50s and 60s) dance on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Seligman Chamber Event Center. The band will be Cheyenne, from arkansas.
