Betty M. "Bailey" Long

Betty M. "Bailey" Long, 85, of Exeter, passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, in Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.

She was born March 15, 1930, in Wheelerville, the daughter of Will and Fannie Mae (Neal) Vincent. She was united in marriage to Paul Bailey on June 20, 1948. To this union two children were born. Paul preceded her in death on March 2, 1973. She later married Marcel Long, who also preceded her in death. Others preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Truman, Howard, James and Donald Vincent and three sisters, Helen Robbins, Fern Still and Little Faye Vincent.

Survivors include: one son, Jim Bailey and his wife, Chris Ann, of Exeter; one daughter, Paula Holtzman and her husband, John, of Cassville; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was a graduate of Rocky Comfort High School. She was a homemaker and had resided in the Thomas Hollow Community since 1934. She was a member of Wheaton First Baptist Church and Thomas Hollow Extension Club. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. Pastor Mark Hall and Pastor Donnie Spears conducted the services. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
