Washburn man injured, arrested after wreck

Vehicle strikes tree on Hwy. 76 near Cassville

A Washburn man suffered moderate injuries and was arrested Tuesday after a wreck at 10:45 a.m. on Highway 76, four miles east of Cassville.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Orren Walker, 42, of Washburn, was driving a 1992 Chevrolet S10 eastbound on Highway 76 when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Walker suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Cassville.

He was not wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.

Walker was arrested by the Highway Patrol at 11:15 a.m. for allegedly driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain a single lane and no seat belt.
