Teen injured in Hwy. 86 wreck

17-year-old airlifted from scene

A Cassville teen was seriously injured Sunday at about 7:35 a.m. in a wreck on Highway 86, five miles east of Cassville.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Quentin Moles, 16, of Cassville, was driving a 2003 Jeep Liberty eastbound on Highway 86 when his vehicle slid off the roadway and struck a road sign.

Moles was not injured. A passenger, Dylan Mayes, 17, of Cassville, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

Neither of the teens were wearing safety devices, and damage to the vehicle was extensive.
