Gerald R. "Jerry" Bass
Gerald R. "Jerry" Bass, 68, of Shell Knob, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015, in his home.
He was born Aug. 8, 1946, in Emporia, Kan., the son of Lois Nadine (Jones) and Roy Everett Bass. On Jan. 8, 1966, he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Irvine, who survives.
Additional survivors include: two daughters, Gerie Bass, of Wichita, Kan., and Wendy Browning and her husband, Sean, of Willard; one brother, Ronald Bass and his wife, Judy, of Shell Knob; one sister, Rita Fife and her husband, Bob, of Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren, Michael Spies, of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Ashli Browning and Luke Browning, of Willard, Preceding him in death were his parents.
He grew up and received his education in Kansas and moved to Missouri upon his retirement in 2002, from Boeing in Wichita, Kan.
He was a member of Lakeside Christian Church of Shell Knob, where A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 24.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado, Kan., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Chet Shaw will conduct the services.
