Three days after water rose 4-6 feet in a matter of 10 minutes, washing out campgrounds and public use areas, Roaring River State Park is reopening.

According to a release from Missouri State Parks, The park store, Emory Melton Inn and Conference Center and some day-use areas are open. Anglers can purchase daily tags at the park store. Campers may arrive starting at 3 p.m. and lodging customers should follow normal check-in procedures.

Some areas of the park remain closed. Campsites 87, 89-91, 99-101, 103, 106, 108, 113, 116 and 117 in Campground 2, and campsites 138, 139, 153 and 154 in Campground 3 will remain closed for repairs. All other sites will reopen at 3 p.m. Friday.

Additional advisories and alerts regarding the park are posted
