Runoff from the west affecting 14th Street, County Farm Road

Law enforcement and emergency personnel are evacuating portions of Cassville, as rains from the west have led to flash flooding on 14th Street and County Farm Road.

According to Sheriff Mick Epperly, Main Street by Jump Stop on from 9th Street to 12th Street has been shut down, the Justin Boot Factory on Presley Drive has been evacuated, and deputies and firefighters are evacuating people from the Schell Trailer Park on County Farm Road.

"This rain came in from the west and from Exeter, so it's from a different direction [than on Tuesday]," he said. "The water was really high, and then it went back down, but now we're keeping an eye on this next front coming through."

Cassville Fire Chief Millard Andrews said firefighters performed rescues at the trailer park, as well as on 11th Street.

Epperly said Highways 76 and 248 are not seeing the flooding they experienced Tuesday, but he has seen businesses on Main Street downtown putting up sand bags just in case.
