Drawing for quilts July 17 at Stone's Prairie Picnic

A drawing for the quilt will be on July 17 at the annual Stone's Prairie Picnic, to be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Purdy. The event will begin at 6 p.m. In the event of rain, the picnic will be held the next day at the same time. Raffle tickets are $1 each and there is no limit on purchase. All proceeds benefit the church. The church is located at 5732 Farm Road 1057, Purdy. For more information on the event, the church can be reached at 417-442-3836. Carolyn Schad, left, and Carole Heller, both of Purdy, hold a baby quilt made by Schad and an afghan made by Margaret Rupp. The quilt and afghan will be given away in a drawing on July 17 at the annual Stone's Prairie Picnic, to be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Purdy. The event will begin at 6 p.m. There will be hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, sauerkraut, drinks, Bluegrass music and games, including bingo with prizes and traditional games for children and animal-drawn rides. The Lutheran Women's Missionary League will have baked and homemade goods available for sale such as cakes, cinnamon rolls, pies, quilts, baby bibs and pillow cases.
