Terry Wade DeGraffenreid, age 65, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 28,
2015, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born July 5, 1949, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Bates) DeGraffenreid. On July 16, 2011, he was united in marriage to Brenda (Keys) Brattin, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Terri Lynn DeGraffenreid Brattin and her husband, Mike of Rocky Comfort, Missouri and Laura Simac and her husband, Jason of Madison, Wisconsin; one stepson, Rob Brattin and his wife, Taylor of Wheaton, Missouri; four brothers, Kelly DeGraffenreid and his wife, Donna of Monett, Missouri, his twin brother, Jerry DeGraffenreid and his wife, Marian of Forsyth, Missouri, Rick DeGraffenreid and his wife, Alexis of Ava, Missouri and Randy DeGraffenreid and his wife, Linda of Pilot Point, Texas and six grandchildren, Allie, Emma, Luke, Bentley, Camren and Zoey. Terry is loved by many nieces and nephews, and his faithful friend, Kenny Perriman.
Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Dr. Ron DeGraffenreid.
Terry grew up and received his education at Bolivar, Missouri, where he graduated from high school and was a graduate of Southwest Baptist University. For a few years, he was employed for Colonial Bread Company and then began working for Shelter Insurance in Warrensburg, Missouri. In 1986, he became the Shelter Insurance Agent for Cassville. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Cassville. Terry currently serves on the Freedom Bank Board and Mercy Hospital Board, and previously served on the Cassville Golf Course Board. He received many Shelter Insurance Awards including runner up for Agent of the Year in 1987, twenty-eight Conference of Champion Awards and eighteen Millionaire's Trips. On November 2, 2011, Terry and his brothers were inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and were presented the Filbert 5 Award, for basketball.
Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. Thursday, July 2, 2015, in the Cassville Family Life Center, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was at Rocky Comfort Cemetery, Rocky Comfort, Missouri.
The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
