29-year-old dies in Hwy. 76 wreck
Propane tanker truck, passenger vehicle collide near Shell Knob
A 29-year-old Shell Knob woman died in a wreck Tuesday afternoon on Highway 76, five miles west of Shell Knob and about one mile west of Highway 39, when her vehicle struck a propane tanker truck head-on.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Amy Zogleman, 29, of Shell Knob, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Impala eastbound when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2007 Kenworth Tanker truck being driven by Charles Cooper, 46, of Cassville.
Barry County Coroner Jim Fohn pronounced Zogleman dead at the scene. She was not wearing a safety device. She was taken to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Cooper, who was wearing a safety device and tested for impairment, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Cox Monett Hospital.
The Impala was totaled in the wreck, and the Kenworth suffered extensive damage.
According to the Highway Patrol, this is Troop D's 46th fatality of the year. Troop D covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Barry.
