Lisa Jane Peterson

Lisa Jane Peterson, 60, of Cassville, passed away in her home on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. She was born on Oct. 11, 1954, daughter of Arthur and Imogene (Sullivan) Peterson, in Versailles. In 1974, the family moved to San Antonio, Texas, where Lisa graduated as valedictorian from Eloise Japhet High School.

The family relocated to Cassville and Lisa continued her education obtaining her associate degree from Crowder College in Neosho, and subsequently worked with the Division of Family Services in Neosho. Lisa had a passion for reading and was very involved with the Friends of the Library at the Barry-Lawrence County Library. She was also an active member and past office holder of the Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society. She attended the Methodist Church in Cassville.

Survivors include: three cousins: John Sullivan and his wife, Janet, of Cassville, Patty Gardner and her husband, Bob, of Springfield, and Sharon Coker and her husband Norman, of St. Louis.

Memorial services were held at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 12 at the White Funeral Home & Crematory in Cassville, with Rev. Andy Lambel officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Cassville.
