Allen D. Hilbert

Allen D. Hilbert, 81, of Exeter, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015, in Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation, Cassville.

He was born Jan. 28, 1934, in Claremore, Okla., the son of Robert and Linda (Cochran) Hilbert. On June 19, 1954, in Springfield, he was united in marriage to Halla Richmond, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one son, Bill Hilbert and his wife, Barbara, of Pierce City; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Hilbert, of Golden City; one sister, Viola Taylor, of Modesto, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, David Hilbert; one brother Gene Hilbert and one sister, Sylvia Robinson.

He grew up and received his education in California and moved to Missouri at the age of 20. For several years, he was employed at EFCO. He was of the Baptist faith. On March 5, 1960, he was honorably discharged, after serving in the U.S. Army National Guard.

Memorial services were held Thursday in Stella Baptist Church.

Cremation arrangements were under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.
