Summer school starts today

Cassville High School Summer School begins today and runs through June 19 from 7:50 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. each day. Breakfast is available in the middle school cafeteria from 7:15-7:45 a.m., and lunch is available from 11:25-11:50 a.m. Students would need only to attend Summer School until their credits are recovered. People with questions may contact the counselor's office at 417-847-4014

Libraries hosting children's program this week

"Oh My Gosh Josh: Amazing Adventures of Super Chicken" will be at area libraries this week. Today (Wednesday), the program will be at the Pierce City Branch at 10 a.m., the Purdy Branch at 1 p.m. and the Monett Branch at 3:30 p.m. On Thursday, the program will be at the Eagle Rock Branch at 10 a.m., the Shell Knob Branch at 1:30 p.m. and the Cassville Branch at 3:30 p.m.

Seligman Chamber hosting Pig Roast

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce will host a Pig Roast at the chamber building at 6 p.m. the cost is $6 per plate. Drinks are sold separately for $1 each, except for water and coffee, and desserts are $1 each. For more information, people may call Cleta at 417-662-3611.

Oklahoma man to preach at Wheaton church

Tony "Mac" McMullen, of Coweta, Okla., will share a message at the Body of Christ Outreach Church in Wheaton on June 12 at 7 p.m. The event is free, and for more information, people may call 417-652-3709. A former drug dealer who was convicted of shooting and killing his friend, McMullen found saving grace in prison and started Free in Christ ministries. He is available for speaking engagements for church services, youth meetings, civic groups and schools.

Drive-Through Job Fest to be held today

A Drive-Through Job Fest will be held today (Wednesday) from 9-11 a.m. at the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce. Those who attend will receive a "golden ticket," which directs them to an unpublished website with hundreds of regional career opportunities. Lawn Mower Races coming to Fairview

Lawn Mower Races, followed by music and dance, will be held beside the city park in Fairview on June 6, beginning at 4 p.m. There is a $5 entry fee for all racers and a concession stand will be available with hot dogs, chips, candy and cold drinks. Linebarger Family Reunion set for June 14

The Linebarger Family Reunion will be held on June 14 at the Purdy Community Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. A basket lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Cassville Tractor Supply hosting pet event

Cassville Tractor Supply, located at 1011 Old Exeter Road, will host a pet event on Saturday, as part of Purina Days May 27-31, to encourage adoptions and support local animal groups. Tractor Supply will provide care products for a variety of pets, as well as free adoption kits for the first 10 who adopt an animal. Haven of the Ozarks will be on site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. doing adoptions, and Crane Creek Ranch Alpacas, a large animal clinic, will be on site at the same times.
