Woman's vehicle avoids animal, strikes mailbox, curb
A Cassville woman was injured in a wreck on Highway 37 in Washburn Monday after swerving to avoid an animal in the roadway.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Alan Stensrud, 54, of Cassville, was driving a 2013 Dodge Avenger southbound on Highway 37 at about 1:25 p.m. when his vehicle swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway, then ran off the roadway, striking a mailbox and a curb.
A passenger in the vehicle, Martha Stensrud, 46, of Cassville, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. Alan Stensrud was not injured.
Both were wearing safety devices, and the vehicle suffered moderate damage.
