Driver moderately injured after being ejected from vehicle

A pair of Wheaton residents were injured Monday afternoon in a wreck on Highway BB, three miles south of Monett.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Billy Miller, 19, of Wheaton, was driving a 2001 Ford F150 eastbound on Highway BB at about 3:52 p.m. when his vehicle skidded off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch, overturned and went through a fence, and ejected Miller.

Miller suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was not wearing a safety device.

A passenger in the vehicle, Jamie Miller, 39, of Wheaton, suffered serious injuries and was also transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was wearing a safety device.

The F150 was totaled in the incident.
