Cassville teacher hospitalized Friday morning
Intermediate School teacher taken to Springfield hospital
A Cassville Intermediate School teacher was hospitalized Friday morning after a medical event at the school.
According to Richard Asbill, Cassville superintendent, the teacher was in the hallway outside the cafeteria when the event occurred, and LaDon Vandzant, school nurse, and Jill LeCompte, assistant superintendent, were only 15-20 feet away from the teacher when the event occurred. Vandzant provided immediate care while other staff called 911.
No children were injured as a result of the incident, and the teacher was conscious when the ambulance left for the hospital.
Asbill said the district will send a school reach message to the parents of students in that teacher's class to let them know what occurred.
