Contracts for non-certified staff renewed in Purdy
Employees to receive benefit of cheaper health insurance
Purdy school district's non-certified staff all received employment for the coming year, one of several contract actions approved by the Purdy school board.
All non-certified positions have been filled for the 2015-2016 school year. According to Anna Marie Erwin, school board secretary, the district is still seeking to hire an art teacher.
Superintendent Steven Chancellor reported the district did well this year as part of the Missouri Educator's Trust. By joining the consortium of school districts, costs to Purdy employees fell. The board voted to stay with coverage under Anthem and to continue paying the same amount to cover costs for employees. Consequently, employees will receive the savings from the consortium, which totals $39 a month per employee.
Board members renewed their contract with Scott Benton, of Benton CPA in Cassville, to conduct the district's audit for a third year.
The annual memorandum of understanding for Head State services through the Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation was also renewed. Erwin said the district must renew the agreement annually.
