Charles Truman "Chuck" Fielding
Charles Truman "Chuck" Fielding, 69, of Washburn, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, in the VA Hospital, Fayetteville, Ark.
He was born Dec. 21, 1945, in Washburn, the son of Melvin Paul and Maggie Dean (Henry) Fielding. On Feb. 6, 1971, he was united in marriage to Mary McGeorge, who survives. Additional survivors include: one son, Christopher Fielding, of Washburn; one daughter, Robin Stroud, of Lee's Summit; his mother, Maggie Fielding, of Washburn; two brothers, Tommie Fielding and his wife, Dee, of Washburn, and Rick Fielding and his wife, Patty, of Springfield; and two sisters, Paula McMillan, of Washburn, and Lula Gauwain, of Breckenridge, Texas.
Preceding him in death were his father and grandparents.
He grew up and received his education at Washburn and was a 1964 graduate of Southwest High School. During the Vietnam War, he was in the U.S. Army, serving from Sept. 23, 1969, until Sept 1, 1971. After the service, he was employed for Barry Electric and also Fasco for a while. He had been a custodian and bus driver for Southwest for a few years. He then worked in maintenance for South Barry County Hospital, then for Mercy Hospital, from which he retired.
He was a member of Washburn First Baptist Church, where funeral services with military honors were held Tuesday, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Jim Erwin and Rev. Glenn Erwin conducted the services.
