Xai Toua Yang
Xai Toua Yang, 88, of Diamond, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015, in his home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1926, in Laos, the son of Wa Seng Yang and Chi Xiong. In 1945, in Laos, he was united in marriage to Ker Xiong, who survives. Also surviving are: two sons, Blong Yang and his wife, May Herr Yang, of Diamond, and Wa Sher Yang and his wife, Mai Houa Vang, of Laos; four daughters, Mai Yia Yang and her husband, Va Por Xiong, of St. Paul, Minn., Mor Yang and her husband, Cheng Zong, of Australia, Mai Houa Yang, and her husband, Lee Vue, of Fresno, Calif. and Khou Yang and her husband, Vue Pao Xiong, of Oshkosh, Wis.; one brother, Fa Tong Yang, of Laos; one sister, Chao Yang, of Tulsa, Okla.; 49 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Chia Yang and Neng Yang and one sister, Mai Yang.
He grew up in Laos. During the Vietnam War, he was a captain in the U.S. Army Defense Corp. Before moving to Diamond 10 years ago, he resided in Minnesota. In 2012, he received a Certificate of Membership to the SGU Veterans and Families Development of USA for his service during the war.
Services will be held from 7 a.m. Saturday, March 28, until 9 a.m. Monday, March 30, in McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton, with military honors and burial in Dice Cemetery, Fairview, at 10 a.m. Monday.
