Thomas Miller McCallister

Thomas Miller McCallister, 86, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, in Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cassville.

He was born July 18, 1928, in Barry County, the son of Jaques and Lottie (Horner) McCallister.

On Sept. 3, 1949, in Aurora, he was united in marriage to Dorthy Mae Tucker, who survives. Additional survivors include: two sons, James McCallister and his wife, Terry, of Hobbs, N.M., and Larry McCallister and his wife, Mary, of Alpine, Texas; two brothers, John McCallister, of Cassville, and Don McCallister and his wife, JoAnn, of Monett; three sisters, Norma Hooten and her husband, David, of Hobbs, N.M., Katie Brown and her husband, Jere, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Betty Perdieu, of Olathe, Kan.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and one granddaughter.

He grew up and received his education in Aurora. For several years, he was employed with Northern Natural Gas Company as a well tester, working in Kansas, New Mexico and Texas. Twenty years ago he moved to Shell Knob. He was a member of Lakeside Christian Church in Shell Knob.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
