Mike Hammond, 68, of Cassville, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
He was born on Aug. 14, 1946, in Cushing, Okla., son of Bill and Hazel (Brown) Hammond. His family moved to Barry County in 1964, where he began working with his father in the family business, Hammond Service Station in Cassville. On Dec. 17, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sandy Wallace in Cassville; she survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Jeffrey Hammond and his wife, Michele, of Cassville, and Tyler Peterson, currently stationed in South Korea; one daughter, Cheyenne Black, of the home; two sisters, Jane Lloyd, of Fayetteville, Ark., and Linda Vaughn and her husband, Jerry, of Pulaskifield; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Bill and Hazel Hammond.
Memorial services were held on Monday at the White Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother Jeremy Wallace officiating.
