Loring "Larry" Edmond Erickson
Loring "Larry" Edmond Erickson, 87, of Shell Knob, passed away on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
He was born on March 1, 1927, in Duluth, Minn., son of Raymond and Alvina (Johnson) Erickson. He was united in marriage to Nancy Gail Smith on May 21, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa. He served in U.S. Air Force as a Radar Technician with the P61 Night Fighter Squadron. He attended Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shell Knob, where he was a church elder. He was also a member of the Lions Club and a Community Building Board member.
Survivors include: his wife of 67 years, Nancy Erickson, of Shell Knob; three sons, Don Erickson and his wife, Ola, of Shell Knob, David Erickson and his wife, Kathie, of Forsythe, and Scott Erickson, of Springfield; one daughter, Denise Love and her husband, Tony, of Walnut Grove; one sister, Sharon Difofia, of Santa Rosa, Fla.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Friday at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shell Knob, with Rev. John Johnson officiating.
