Kenneth Ewell Graves
Kenneth Ewell Graves, 76, of Purdy, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, in his home.
He was born March 3, 1938, in Blue Eye, the son of Ewell and Dovie (Widner) Graves. On July 3, 1961, in Monett, he was united in marriage to Rose Phillips, who survives. Additional survivors include: two sons, Kenney Joe Newboles and his wife, of Nixa, and Kevin Eugene Graves, and his wife, Jammie, of Exeter; two daughters, Pamela and Karen Michelle and her husband, Danny, of Purdy; two brothers, Archie Graves, of Neosho, and Bob Graves of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Jerlene, of Berryville, Ark., and Zoe and Ruth, of Kansas City, and three grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Emanuel, Dean, Basil and Eugene; and one sister, Pearl.
He grew up and received his education at Blue Eye, where he graduated with the High School Class of 1956. From June 19, 1962, until June 28, 1965, he served in the U.S. Army. For several years, he was employed as line supervisor for Tyson Foods in Monett. He resided in Shell Knob several years before moving to Purdy to make his home. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church at Wheaton. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.
