Jimmy D. Benson
Jimmy D. Benson, 85, of Washburn, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, in Joplin. He was born Sept. 8, 1929, in Minco, Okla., the son of Oscar Gaines and Eunice Price Benson.
He was retired from the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was of the Christian faith and was a member of the NRA.
Survivors include: his children by his first marriage, Oscar Benson, of China, Leigh Reza, of California, Micheal Benson, of Arkansas, Laura Clipper, of Arkansas, Tim Benson, of Texas, Kevin Benson, of Michigan; his wife, Edna Benson of the home; and their children, Pablo Benson, of Florida, Andres Benson, of Indiana, Lydia Blake, of Florida, and Mauricio Benson, of Texas; a sister, Joyce Horton, of Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday at Moore's Chapel followed by burial at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
