Kermit Charles Whitney Marble
Kermit Charles Whitney Marble, 79, of Shell Knob, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, in his home.
He was born in Bainbridge, N.Y., Sept. 9, 1935, the son of Bertram C. and Olive Maud (Whitney) Marble who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death on Jan. 19, 2015, was his wife of 56 years, Katherine E. "Kay" (Weidner) Marble; one brother, Maurice Marble, and a son, Donald Marble.
Survivors include: two sons, Charles Marble and his wife, Linda, of Sidney, N.Y., and Dave and Michelle Marble, of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Marble, of Gilbertsville, N.Y.; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Beverly Williams, of Shell Knob; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He graduated from Sidney Central High School in Sidney, N.Y. In March 1956, Kermit joined the U.S. Army serving until March of 1958. On May 10, 1958, in Racine, Wis., he and Kay were married. For several years, he was employed as a tool and die maker for Bendix Corporation. In 2001, they moved to Shell Knob. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob.
