Michael Lynn "Mike" Utter

Michael Lynn "Mike" Utter, 64, of Butterfield, passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, in Cox South Hospital, Springfield.

He was born Oct. 21, 1950, in Butterfield, the son of Robert and Lois Lucille (Hilburn) Utter, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Robert Keith Utter and Donald Dewayne Utter and one sister, Dorothy Lucille Looney.

On April 1, 1978, he was united in marriage to Lena Watson who survives.

Additional survivors include: three sons, Rob Utter, of Denver, Colo., Sam Utter, of Springfield, and Christopher Utter, of Butterfield; one daughter (niece), Amanda Eddy, of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Diana Eddy, of Tulsa, Okla.; and seven grandchildren.

He has lived his entire life in Barry County, graduating from Cassville High School as an All Star football player, and then attending two years at SMS College in Springfield, where he also played football along with becoming a golden gloves boxer. He then became an over-the-road truck driver. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the home of Mike's son Christopher, at 10505 Maple Street, Butterfield. Cremation arrangements are under direction of a Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
