Organizers kick off 2015 fundraising for cancer cure

The Relay for Life of Barry County is hoping to test people's minds on Saturday with the inaugural Trivia Night and Silent Auction.

The event, which will be held from 5-8 p.m. at the Scott Regional Technology Center in Monett, kicks off the 2015 fundraising for the group.

"I'd really like to see some Cassville teams get together and show what they know," said Ann Hennigan, Relay for Life of Barry County entertainment coordinator. "People may be at home playing trivia games over the holidays, and they should get the family together and show off their trivia skills at this event. You don't have to be a business to make a team."

Tickets for the trivia night are $25 for a 6-person team, or $5 for individuals. They may be bought at Freedom Bank in Cassville, or Community National Bank in Monett.

Dinner will be served at 5 p.m., and trivia will begin at 6 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for first-, second- and third-place teams. In case of inclement weather, a snow date for the event has been set for Jan. 24.

The event aims to raise money for the Relay for Life, which will be held at South Park in Monett on April 25.

People interested in forming a team and running in the Relay for Life may do so by visiting www.relayforlife.org and clicking the "Get Involved" and "Find an Event" links.
