Secret judges choose Christmas display winners

Contest includes more than 50 homes, businesses

The Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce announced winners in the 19th annual holiday lighting contest.

The secret judges viewed more than 50 decorated homes and businesses from Dec. 6-13, said Mindi Artherton, chamber director. The winners were selected based on the work, organization and theme that went into the displays.

In the Residential Division, Angie Luney placed first, Phil and Valarie Hutchens placed second, James and Donna Brant placed third, and Garry and Tess Elliott received an honorable mention. In the Commercial Division, Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation won a traveling trophy for placing first.

The chamber also gave prizes to the top four residents. Luney won two Pizza Hut certificates for large single topping pizzas and two combo meal certificates to Sonic Drive-In, the Hutchens family won a Christmas market basket donated by Forever Yours Embroidery, the Brant family won a $25 gift certificate to BBQ Station, and the Elliot family won coupons to Taco Bell.
