Exeter to host Donkey Basketball Game

Exeter's athletics program will host a Donkey Basketball Game on Jan. 15, 2015 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $6 each, and the game will be held in the Exeter High School gym. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Exeter Athletic Booster Club, which funds things like uniforms and awards for Exeter athletes.

Roaring River State Park to host First Day Hike

Roaring River State Park will host a First Day Hike on Jan. 1, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Eagle's Nest, and at 2 p.m. at Springhouse Trail. "This is an excellent way to start the new year by being part of the great outdoors and hiking through the hills at Roaring River State Park," said Kerry Hays, Roaring River State Park manager.

County officials to be sworn in Monday

The swearing in of Barry County elected officials will be held on Monday at noon in the Barry County Commissioners' office. Newly-elected Barry County Prosecutor Amy Boxx and newly-elected Associate Circuit Judge Johnnie Cox will be the only officials swearing in for new positions.

DivorceCare support group to begin 
meeting in January 2015

The DivorceCare divorce recovery seminar and support group will meet at the First Baptist Church, located at 602 West St. in Cassville, each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. beginning on Jan. 6, 2015. DivorceCare features nationally-recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics. Seminar sessions include: "Facing my Anger," "Facing my Loneliness," "New Relationships," "KidCare" and "Forgiveness.
