Cassville School District hires new transportation mechanic

The Cassville School District has hired a new diesel transportation mechanic to head up its bus barn. Jason Roller, who has worked at the Southwest School District for 17 years in a similar position, began his duties at Cassville on Monday. "We are excited to have Jason join our transportation program," said Dusty Reid, director of facilities and operations at Cassville Schools. "Jason has a lot of experience and is bringing with him a desire to build relationships and work collectively with each of our buildings to ensure our student transportation program is efficient and safe." Roller has been hired as a 12-month, classified employee and will earn $18.92 per hour, an annual salary of $36,775.

Eagle Rock Library hosting Community Children's Christmas Party

The Eagle Rock Friends of the Library is hosting its annual Community Children's Christmas Party at the Eagle Rock Library in the Community Center on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. There will be a reading of the Night before Christmas, a snack and Lego crafts, and the Santa Claus will be available at 1:30 for photos. DivorceCare support group to begin meeting in January 2015

The DivorceCare divorce recovery seminar and support group will meet at the First Baptist Church, located at 602 West St. in Cassville, each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. beginning on Jan. 6, 2015. DivorceCare features nationally-recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics. Seligman Christmas Train Ride set for Saturday

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas & Missouri Railroad will have a Polar Express Santa train ride on Saturday at noon. The train will go to Rogers, Ark., and back, with no unboarding. People wishing to ride may board at the Seligman City community building, at 29144 Main St. No reservations needed. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children 12-and-under. The ride will take about two hours. Santa will be on board to give children a bag of treats. People may call 417-662-3612 for more information.
