Train leaves at noon Dec. 20

The Seligman Area Chamber of Commerce has invited people to hop on a Polar Express Santa train.

The train leaves from Seligman at noon on Dec. 20, and all proceeds go to the chamber, said Cleta Stanley, chamber secretary. Nobody can disembark on the approximate two-hour roundtrip journey to Rogers, Ark.

"It's just a scenic trip," Stanley said. "The train is all decorated for Christmas. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus are on it."

Santa will be giving bags of treats to children, she said. The Arkansas & Missouri Railroad train also provides hot chocolate to the passengers.

The chamber has hosted the Christmas train ride for about eight years, Stanley said.

No reservation is required. Passengers may purchase their tickets with cash or check at the Seligman City Community Building, 29144 Main St. The tickets are $15 for each adult and $10 for each child at least 12 and under.

For more information about the train ride, people may contact the Seligman Chamber at 417-662-3612.
