Pair of Arkansans hurt in Highway 37 wreck
Wet roadway causes vehicle to slide, go through fence
Two Arkansas residents suffered minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene of an accident Thursday on Highway 37, four miles north of Washburn.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, William Craig, 73, of Rogers, Ark., was driving a 1999 Lincoln Town Car southbound on Highway 37 at about 9:09 p.m. when the vehicle lost control on the wet pavement, left the roadway, struck a fence, drove through a field and into the edge of a pond before coming to rest at another fence.
Craig suffered minor injuries an refused treatment at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, Leah Nelson, 59, of Eureka Springs Ark., also suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
The vehicle suffered minor damage and was driven from the scene. Both were wearing safety devices.
