Cassville High School honors veterans at ceremony

Cassville High School held a ceremony Tuesday in appreciation of veterans.

Junior Blake Weston, left, salutes Patti Daniels, retired school counselor of 25 years, after presenting her a flag in recognition of her son, Maj. S. Scott Taliaferro, a 1994 Cassville graduate and special forces officer attending the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. Major Taliaferro has deployed multiple times in support of contingency operations all over the world. His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, The National defense service medal, and the Afghanistan Campaign ribbon. Major Taliaferro's professional schooling includes: Basic Airborne School, Pathfinder School, Military Freefall School, The maneuver Captains Careers Course, and The Special Forces Qualification Course Daniels accepted the flag on his behalf.
