James Allen Echols

James Allen Echols, 69, of Seligman, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at his home.

He was born Jan. 26, 1945, in Orange County, Texas, the son of Willie Ernest and Ruby Marie (Grimsley) Echols. In 1986, he was united in marriage to Deloris Dutton, who survives.

Additional survivors include: three daughters, Amanda Fay Cannady and her husband, Kevin, Kimberly Morris and Amber Reeder, all of Seligman; two brothers, Carl Echols and his wife, Creta, of Centerton, Ark. and Willard Echols and his wife, Thlema, of Oklahoma; one sister, Lue Patrick and her husband, Ben, of Sulpher Springs, Ark.; and 13 grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Randall Echols.

He grew up in Seligman, where he received his education. He resided in Lowell, Ark., before moving back to Seligman 20 years ago. For several years he was a packer for Allen Canning Company in Springdale, Ark. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, in Tucks Chapel Cemetery, Avoca, Ark., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Brother Bob Rowe will conduct the services.
