Shell Knob Merchant's 7th annual Holiday Open House set for Saturday

The Shell Knob Merchant's 7th Annual Holiday Open House will be held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at each individual business. There will be refreshments and door prizes, including a chance to win $100 cash. Businesses participating include: Farmers Daughter Floral, Old Church Gallery, Ski & Sports, Neill's Home Store, Jug & Plug, Creative Arts of Shell Knob, Treasures Then & Now, Wee Flee, the Eagles Lodge Ladies Auxiliary and Next Door.

Share Your Christmas sign-ups begin Nov. 10

Share Your Christmas sign-ups will be from Nov. 10 to Nov. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. each day at the Neighborhood Center, located at 700 E Hwy. 248 in Cassville. The Center will be closed on Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day. Proof of all household income for the month of October and Social Security cards for each household member is required. OACAC hosting coat drive beginning Friday

The Barry County Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation Neighborhood Center will host a coat drive from Thursday until Dec. 3. Drop-off locations include: Freedom Bank, Barry Electric, the Cassville Area Chamber of commerce and the OACAC Neighborhood Center.

Cassville High School to honor vets Tuesday

Cassville High School is inviting all veterans and their families to the 26th Annual Veterans Day Assembly on Tuesday, at 9 a.m., in the Cassville High School gymnasium. A reception will follow the assembly. For more information, people may call Cassville High School at 417-847-3137.

Libraries offering meeting room spaces

The Barry-Lawrence Regional Library system has spaces open for family or group meetings. Spaces are available at the Cassville, Shell Knob, Aurora, Marionville, Mt. Vernon and Pierce City. Purdy Friends of Library hosting Book Sale

The Purdy Friends of the Library will be holding a Book Sale on Wednesday, and Friday, from 9 a.m. 2 p.m., at the Purdy Community Center. Donations of gently used books will be accepted until Friday, Oct. 31. For more information, people may contact the library at 417-442-7314 with any questions.

New SKITS play opens Thursday

SKITS is presenting the play, "You Can't Get There From Here," on Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 2 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. in Shell Knob at the United Methodist Church on Hwy. YY. Tickets are $6 and are available at several businesses in Shell Knob, or by calling 417-499-4551 to arrange for pickup at the door. The play answers what brings a scandal-sheet reporter to a sleeping town, and how a pot hole creates business.
